Lead Studio Instructor

We're looking for enthusiastic Lead Studio Instructors to join our growing team. This role is at the heart of the Hooray Art experience: leading engaging art classes, building meaningful relationships with students and families, and creating the warm, creative environment our community loves.

This position is perfect for teachers, artists, or recent college grads who are creative, love working with children, and want to make a meaningful impact through art.

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging, process-based art classes for children ages 2-12. (Classes are divided into the following age groups: Toddlers 1.5-4yrs, Preschool 3.5-6yrs, Elementary K-6th)

• Create a positive, inclusive classroom where every child feels welcomed, supported, and successful.

• Encourage creativity, curiosity, and confidence through hands-on art experiences.

• Prepare materials and set up the studio for each class or event.

• Clean and reset the classroom after each class, ensuring materials are organized and ready for the next group.

• Adapt activities to meet the needs of different ages, abilities, and learning styles.

• Build positive relationships with students and communicate warmly and professionally with parents and caregivers before and after class.

• Partner with the Studio Manager and Owner by communicating classroom successes, concerns, supply needs, and opportunities to improve the studio experience.

• Support and mentor Studio Assistants during classes.

• Help uphold the Hooray Art experience by maintaining a welcoming, organized, and inspiring studio environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching, mentoring, or working with groups of children between the ages of 2-12

• Background in art, education, early childhood, or another creative field.

• Experience leading classes, camps, or enrichment programs.

• Strong communication and classroom management skills.

Schedule

We are currently hiring Lead Studio Instructors with availability during one or more of the following time blocks. These schedules may be filled by multiple team members, so you do not need to be available for all time periods.

Morning availability

• Weekday mornings, approximately 9:00 AM–1:00 PM

• Ideal availability: 2–5 mornings per week

Afternoon availability

• Weekdays, approximately 2:30-4:30 PM

• Ideal availability: 2 afternoons per week

Evening availability

• Weekdays, approximately 4:00PM–8:00 PM

• Ideal availability: 2 evenings per week

Weekend availability

• Saturdays, approximately 8:00 AM–2:00 PM

• Schedules are somewhat flexible based on studio needs and instructor availability. Opportunities for growth and additional hours are available.

Compensation

Lead Studio Instructor compensation starts at $28/hour, with opportunities for growth based on experience and performance

Studio Assistant

We're looking for enthusiastic Studio Assistants to join our growing team. Studio Assistants play an essential role in creating the warm, welcoming, and organized environment that makes Hooray Art special. You'll support Lead Studio Instructors during classes, help children feel successful, prepare materials and clean up after classes, keep the studio running smoothly, and ensure every family has a wonderful experience.

This position is perfect for high school or college students (ages 16+), aspiring teachers, artists, or anyone who loves working with children and wants hands-on experience in a creative environment.

Responsibilities

• Support Lead Studio Instructors during process-based art classes for children ages 2–12.

• Welcome students and families, helping children transition comfortably into class.

• Assist children with projects by offering encouragement and guidance while allowing them to explore and create independently.

• Prepare art materials and set up the studio before classes, camps, parties, and special events.

• Clean and reset studio after each class so the studio is ready for the next group.

• Communicate observations, supply needs, or concerns with the Lead Studio Instructor or Studio Manager.

• Assist with birthday parties, camps, open studio events, and other studio programs as needed.

• Help maintain the welcoming, creative, and organized atmosphere that families expect from Hooray Art.

• Comfortable interacting with children, parents, and fellow team members in a warm and professional manner.

• Reliable, punctual, and eager to learn.

Schedule

We are currently hiring Studio Assistants with availability during one or more of the following time blocks. These schedules may be filled by multiple team members, so you do not need to be available for all time periods.

Afternoon availability

• Weekdays, approximately 2:30 PM–4:30 PM

• Ideal availability: 2 afternoons per week

Evening availability

• Weekdays, approximately 4:00 PM–8:00 PM

• Ideal availability: 2 evenings per week

Weekend availability

• Saturdays, approximately 10 AM–2:00 PM

Schedules are somewhat flexible based on studio needs and team member availability. There are opportunities for additional hours, increased responsibilities, and growth into Lead Studio Instructor roles for team members who demonstrate strong teaching, leadership, and communication skills.

Compensation

Studio Assistant compensation starts at $18/hour, with opportunities for growth based on experience, performance, and increased responsibilities.
